Have you ever considered Windsor for a team building event or day out? Here are 10 reasons why we think you should.
1. It's easy to get to Windsor. The M4 motorway runs nearby with links east to London and west to Bristol and Cardiff. There are frequent trains from London Paddinton (via Slough) and London Waterloo.
2. There's a good range of places to stay and hotels with good facilities for meetings and conferences - ideal for that awayday or off-site get-together.
3. History and pageantry abounds. Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world and is where the Queen makes her home most weekends. Tour the Castle and St George's Chapel and see the Changing of the Guard. There's much to see beyond Windsor's iconic castle too thanks to Windsor's associations with Shakespeare and Sir Christopher Wren.
4. There's a certain quirkiness. Windsor has among its claims to fame the UK's only blue Air Mail postbox and the UK's shortest street.
5. Windsor is small and compact and easy to get around on foot.
6. There's good shopping and theatre and the restaurants and pubs are plenty and varied.
7. River Thames. A good place for people-watching and for feeding the swans. Swan Upping takes place in July and is where the swans on the Thames are counted and ringed.
8. There are many attractions close to the town, including Windsor Great Park, Savill Gardens, Ascot and Windsor racecourses and for the kids there's Legoland®.
9. Eton is an easy stroll just across the Thames from Windsor. It is best known for its 15th century college - an exclusive private school for boys aged 13-18. Guided tours run most afternoons outside term times, giving a facinating insight into one of England's oldest institutions. Eton also has many antique shops, art galleries and curiousity shops worth browsing.
10. X Marks The Spot treasure hunts. Available in CityExplorer®, ReadyCityGo®, OutSmart® and MadeToMeasure® formats - they'll help you discover and enjoy this fascinating town.
